Abstracts and Manuscripts May be Submitted at .ecn.purdue.edu/Herrick/Events/2006 Conferences How to Submit an Abstract ♦ Submit a 500 word abstract electronically at the Submission Page of the Herrick Laboratories webpage at .ecn.purdue.edu/Herrick/Events/2006 Conferences. ♦ Abstract must be compatible with Microsoft Word. ♦ Do not send a duplicate of the abstract by mail. ♦ An acknowledgement receipt for your submission will be sent to the corresponding author with a Reference Number after your abstract has been processed. ♦ There may be at least one week’s delay in our sending you the conference reference number. ♦ Choose a topic for either conference. It may be necessary to reassign your abstract to the other conference after it is reviewed by the chairmen. If this happens, you will be notified of the reassignment with a New Reference Number. All Compressor Engineering Conference abstracts will be given the designation ″C″. All Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Conference abstracts will be given the designation ″R″. (Check the conference website for detailed instructions.) Manuscript Instructions Manuscript preparation instructions will be posted on the Conference website at a later date. Accompanying Persons Program Family members or others who will be accompanying conference attendees may participate in organized activities on two days. Each day has a separate theme. Herrick Laboratories School of Mechanical Engineering, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, Patricia Davies, Director - Website: .ecn.purdue.edu/Herrick/Events/2006 Conferences PURDUE CONFERENCES These conferences are organized by faculty from the Ray W. Herrick Laboratories, Purdue University, in cooperation with many sponsoring and cooperating organizations from around the world. They have taken place every two years for over 30 years. Their focus is on the results of recent research into compressors and other technologies associated with air conditioning and refrigeration. The conferences’ technical sessions run simultaneously enabling attendees to attend sessions of interest from either conference. Purdue Short Courses Two short courses will be conducted prior to the 2006 Conferences on the campus of Purdue University beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 15th and ending on Sunday, July 16th at 5 p.m. (Continue to check the conference website for details.) Conference Venues and Activities Conference Venue and Dates The conferences will begin on Monday, July 17th at 10 a.m. and end on Thursday, July 20th at 3:30 p.m. and will be held on the campus of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, USA. Special room rates will be made available to attendees at various hotels and Purdue facilities. Transportation between venues will be available to attendees by hotel courtesy vans, the city buses, trolleys and Purdue buses. (Further information will be posted on the conference website at a later date.) Language of Conference The conference will be conducted in English. Papers must be written in English. Conference Registration & Proceedings ◙ Conferences run concurrently, so registration for either conference allows attendance at both conferences. (Registration details will be posted on the conference website at a later date.) ◙ Attendees receive CD-ROM proceedings for both conferences and a limited number of printed copies of the papers from both conferences. Approximately 250 papers are included in the proceedings. ◙ Reception, banquet and steak barbeque outing are included in the registration fee.
