ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Suppliers: Develops a qualified low cost and strategically located supply base to support current
and anticipated material requirements. Assumes responsibility for supplier selection, price and
terms negotiated, and supplier performance for all assigned commodities.
: j% x* x! P( c7 b1 B/ `& n· Costs: Establishes an aggressive cost reduction program for each commodity and works in
conjunction with the operating plants to assure timely implementation. Supports cost estimating
' {5 Y( V0 H: ]8 ^with pricing, sourcing, and material planning information necessary to ensure successful
4 K/ B7 C9 ]+ V* d2 l3 p! gintroduction of new business
4 ?, r  i2 p0 k- A0 P· Strategize: Establishes commodity strategies which may include global relationship and travel.
· Contracts: Negotiate long-term supply contracts for high value commodities, which require
technical evaluation.
/ U4 P# ^! M6 l  _· Quality: Collaborates with supplier quality assurance, the operating plants, and suppliers in
developing programs to improve overall supplier quality, delivery, and service.
! ?3 |( r3 E: ?· Management: Develops and maintains a competent work force through recruitment, training,
coaching and establishing goals and objectives.
· Other responsibilities as assigned or required.
