ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Suppliers: Develops a qualified low cost and strategically located supply base to support current
1 m6 u. Z; }( pand anticipated material requirements. Assumes responsibility for supplier selection, price and
terms negotiated, and supplier performance for all assigned commodities.
· Costs: Establishes an aggressive cost reduction program for each commodity and works in
. b' ^; ~) w0 S% y: `conjunction with the operating plants to assure timely implementation. Supports cost estimating
with pricing, sourcing, and material planning information necessary to ensure successful
# ~) k' Z/ b, F$ S. `" fintroduction of new business
· Strategize: Establishes commodity strategies which may include global relationship and travel.
  F! ?* ]: P' g# |; f- n6 z· Contracts: Negotiate long-term supply contracts for high value commodities, which require
technical evaluation.
· Quality: Collaborates with supplier quality assurance, the operating plants, and suppliers in
developing programs to improve overall supplier quality, delivery, and service.
  G! f4 ?8 h+ x: A. u( R% t% h) ]6 h5 d· Management: Develops and maintains a competent work force through recruitment, training,
( r+ k+ B! ?' R9 C# Icoaching and establishing goals and objectives.
